Hello forum members,
Good afternoon,
I have this letter that I still could not find what the 9 means. Any help is appreciated, please.
Letter from Porto (08/26/1857) to Hamburg (09/07/1857) with transit in Bayonne (09/04/1857), Paris (09/05/1857). Paid 25 Réis, valid up to the border, for a letter up to 3/8oz.
Could be the 9 postage due is 9 schillings ? Any idea which postal convention would apply in this case?
Thank you
Luis
